GROUND STABILISATION AND SOIL IMPROVEMENT

Our professional teams will work with you to Design, Engineer and Construct your project from Start to Finish
SOIL STABILIZATION
Ground Stabilization and Soil Improvements using Lime and Cement is a long established tried and tested technique in the UK. These techniques can be used to provide Cost Effective, High performance capping layers for Highways, Piling Platforms, Temporary Haul Roads and Compounds.

By its very nature of using the in-situ soils to create the capping layers, Stabilisation offers other real Benefits such as Reduced Excavation and Disposal and Reduced Imported Aggregates to your site.

JJMac Ground Engineers and Consultants will undertake Testing and Analysis of the current subsoils on site. Once testing is complete, our soil engineers and Design Consultants will provide the Optimum Design and Methodology to achieve the required Performance Specification for our client’s application.
JJMac Soil Stabilisation
Ground and Soil treatment for residential construction using lime
Soil treatment has been used for road and airport construction in UK since the 1970s.

JJMac Ltd would like to share some information and knowledge about Soil Treatment and Ground Improvement.

Soil treatment using Lime and Cement is used widely in road and pavement construction around the world. Other uses include: Soil Treatment binders are used to improve unsuitable soils that are soft and wet with low Shear Strength and low bearing capacity. Once treated with the binders these soils will be fit for use as sub-base material for road and pavement construction. The soils may be retained on site and used as opposed to being carted toff site to tips.

ADVANTAGES OF SOIL AND GROUND STABILISATION
Ground Stabilisation - Cost Reduction
Reduced Excavations and disposal costs associated with foundation works.
Ground Stabilisation - Safety
Health and Safety hazard reduction with less vehicle movements to and on site.
Ground Stabilisation - Recycling
Utilising site won and in-situ materials to form structural sub-base layers.
Ground Stabilisation - Ecological
Environmental benefits through reduced disposal and imported Primary aggregates.
Ground Stabilisation - Less Materials
Reduced imported materials required in construction process.
Ground Stabilisation - Time Saving
Simple and Quick process which Saves Time on Construction Programme over traditional construction process.

Ground Stabilisation - Advantages
JJMac have the abilities to deliver packages that can meet your requirements. Our capabilities are, but not limited to:
  • Waterlogged or Winter Working Platforms
  • Haul Roads Construction
  • Piling Mats
  • Highway Pavement Construction
  • Car Parks
JMac are experts in Soil and Ground Stabilisation using lime, cement and other binder materials. Ground Stabilisation geotechnically enhances waterlogged or weaker soils and allows for greater weight bearing for construction materials. JJMac can provide an exceptionally cost-effective construction method for improving the weight bearing properties of any soil found on site and at a competitive rate.

GROUND STABILISATION AND SOIL IMPROVEMENT
Stabilising and Improving soil with Lime and/or cement is a very cost effective and efficient way of converting weak soils into a usable construction material. This method is widely used in the construction of Permanent and Temporary works such as:

  • Highway Roads and Pavements
  • Car/Lorry Parks
  • Foundations for Floor Slabs
  • Remediation of Contaminated lands
  • Haul Roads
  • Compounds
  • Piling Mats
  • Working platforms

Lime and Cement treated soil effectively increases the Strength (CBR Values), Durability and Compressibility of soils on site.

DESIGN AND ENGINEERING
JJMac Ground Stabilisation
Design Guidance for Road Pavement Foundations allows pavement designers flexibility within Highway Works. (MCHW)
Performance Foundation Designs and Restricted Foundation Designs allow for Capping and Subbase layers to be Designed and Performance tested, giving full consideration of the existing materials on site.

JJMac Ground Stabilization Geotechnical Partners will carry out a desktop study of the existing site using any existing Ground Investigation information available and undertake Field Testing where required to ensure the most robust and cost-efficient pavement designs are produced.
QA Performance testing is carried out at every step of the process and QA reports produced with all works – Permanent and Temporary.
